There are some important questions to ask yourself when you are reflecting on your relationship with your significant other. I’ve been able to experience many relationship highs and lows over time, and found that these have helped me in my search for my special person? hopefully they will also help you on your quest to true love!
How much do you trust your partner?
This is an obvious one, but when I say trust, I mean really trust them? with everything. A strong mutual trust between two partners will ensure a solid foundation for a healthy relationship.
Do you have your own life outside your relationship?
It’s wonderful to fall madly in love with your partner and to long for their presence while they’re away, but it’s also important to retain your individuality. Making sure you have good connections with yourself and others, as well as ensuring you have purpose outside the relationship, is definitely vital to remember.
Does your partner respect you?
Again, an obvious question, but one that many tend to evade. And this concept is a two-way street; mutual respect is key and isn’t something that should be taken lightly as it is one of the most important questions you need to ask yourself.
Does your partner make you want to be a better person?
This is actually a question that I never realized I should have asked myself until I met my sweet boyfriend, Daniel. Wanting to change certain habits for the better, whether big or small, is a step in the right direction, and it makes me happier in my relationship with Daniel, and myself!
Are you and your partner lovers or fighters?
All couples fight – it’s healthy! Ensuring that you and your significant other maintain and appreciate the highs you have, without the lows taking over, is an important notion to keep in mind.
How does your partner make you feel?
It’s a simple thought, but your head can sometimes answer differently than your heart, so it’s important to be honest with yourself when inquiring. Your significant other should help you to feel great about yourself as a partner and as an individual, and you deserve nothing less than the best!
Remember, each heartbreak is one step closer to your person.
